Facilities

A Community Room measuring 28ft x 36ft with a floor area half carpeted and half covered in vinyl flooring.  The room is equipped with stacking and folding tables, easy chairs, stacking chairs, display boards, a 10ft x 6ft wall-mounted projection screen and a 5ft x 5ft portable screen.

Especially useful for functions when young children are present is a toilet accessible directly from inside the Community Room.

Rostra and steps can also be made available for functions in the Community Room which require an elevated stage or platform.

In addition, there is a hall measuring 43ft x 48ft with a polished wood-block floor.  This is a dual-use hall which functions as the Primary School hall between the hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm in term-time.  During evenings, weekends and school holidays it is part of the Community Centre and bookings are made with the Lettings Secretary and not with the School.

There is also a modern kitchen equipped with larder fridge, 2 electric cookers, microwave oven, kettle, 7.5 litre ‘on-tap’ water heater, crockery, cutlery and glasses.  A serving counter opens into the Community Room and a rear door provides access to a sheltered loading bay.

There are men’s and women’s toilets off the entrance foyer.  There is also a separate toilet with wheelchair access and facilities for the disabled.  The disabled toilet also contains a baby-changing facility.

A grassed area at the front of the building can be reached directly from inside the Community Room and provides a pleasant extra space for functions during fine weather.

Car parking is catered for by well-lit off-road facilities along the front of the Community Centre which are sufficient for most types of events.  There is also an overflow car park which can be made available on request.  Wheelchair access to the footpath system is clearly marked and two parking spaces are reserved for disabled drivers.

The Centre is inspected and licensed annually for music, dancing, play performances and other similar functions but not for the sale of alcoholic drinks.  Insurance arrangements include cover for those hiring and using the Centre.
