History

The Community Centre was established in 1979 as part of the building programme for a new village school located at the outskirts of the village in Stockton Road.

It replaced the old Village Hall (now demolished and replaced by houses) which was located at the side of the car park near the pond.

The Centre was paid for by the people of Long Itchington through a levy on the rates.  Warwickshire County Council make the site available on a peppercorn rental.

The day-to-day running of the Centre is vested in a Management Committee which acts on behalf of the Parish Council and thus on behalf of the entire village.

Members of the Management Committee are appointed by the Parish Council and the Primary School. In addition, every village organisation is invited to nominate its own representative.

Any individual wishing to attend meetings or to become involved in the work of the Management Committee will also be made very welcome.

Agendas for meetings are available on request from the Minutes Secretary, Mrs Jean Foster, on 812003.
