Especially useful for functions when young children are present, a toilet is accessible directly from inside the Community Room.MainCommRoom2

Rostra and steps can also be made available for functions in the Community Room which require an elevated stage or platform.  A portable sound system is also available.

In addition, there is a Hall measuring 43ft x 48ft with a polished wood-block floor.  This is a dual-use hall which functions as the Primary School hall between the hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm in term-time.  During evenings, weekends and school holidays it can form part of the Community Centre and bookings can be made via the Lettings Secretary (and not via the School).

There is also a modern kitchen equipped with larder fridge, electric cooker, microwave oven, kettle, 7.5 litre ‘on-tap’ water heater, crockery, cutlery and glasses.  A serving counter opens into the Community Room and a rear door provides access to a sheltered loading bay.

Kitchen-1There are men’s and women’s toilets off the entrance foyer, recently refurbished to a high standard.  There is a separate toilet with wheelchair access and facilities for the disabled.  The small toilet which is accessed from the Community Room contains a baby-changing facility.

A grassed area at the front of the building can be reached directly from inside the Community Room and provides a pleasant extra space for functions during fine weather.

Car parking is catered for by well-lit off-road facilities along the front of the Community Centre which are sufficient for most types of events.  There is also an overflow car park which can be made available on request.  Wheelchair access to the footpath system is clearly marked and two parking spaces are reserved for disabled drivers.

The Community Centre is licensed annually for music, dancing, play performances and other similar functions but not for the sale of alcoholic drinks.  Licences for the sale of alcoholic drinks can be applied for by hirers direct to the justices as required.  Insurance arrangements include cover for those hiring and using the Centre.

In the foyer of the School and Community Centre entrance area there is a glass display cabinet which is available for use by village organisations to display any material which will be of interest to the village, for short periods of two to three weeks.  To reserve the cabinet, check on its availability and make arrangements to collect the cabinet key please contact Linda Clark (01926 814255).
