OldVillageHallHistory

The Community Centre was established in 1979 as part of a building programme for a new school located on the outskirts of the village in Stockton Road.

It replaced the old Village Hall (now demolished and replaced by houses) which was located at the side of the car park near the pond.

The funding to create the Centre was raised from Long Itchington villagers through a levy on the rates.  As part of the lease Warwickshire County Council make the site available to us on a peppercorn rental.

Today

The day-to-day running of the Centre is vested in a Management Committee which acts on behalf of the Parish Council and hence on behalf of the entire village.

Some members of the Management Committee are appointed by the Parish Council and the governors of the Primary School. In addition, every village organisation is entitled to nominate its own representative to serve on the committee. Each year the Management Committee elects its own Chairman.

Any individual wishing to attend meetings or to become involved in the work of the Management Committee is always made very welcome.

Agendas for meetings are available on request from the Minutes Secretary, Mrs Jean Foster, on 812003.
