Our annual Summer Show was held on Saturday 25 June at the Community Centre.
The main sections are: Summer Garden Produce, Homecraft, Flower Arrangements, Photography and Art – plus sections for Children’s Challenge (two age groups) and Family/Group Challenge. In addition to these competitions and displays there will be sideshows and stalls, including a model railway display by the Leamington & Warwick Model Railway Society, a slideshow of old village photographs, music, a tombola – and cream teas! All in all a great day to show the varied talent that exists in our village – and lots of fun besides.
There will be a raffle with lots of prizes, including vouchers generously donated by Catterall’s Coaches, the Co-op and Tesco.
Photographers please note! – the photography categories this year are:
- Not what it seems
- Transport of Delight
- Flora and Fauna

At the end of this year’s Show, two long-standing stalwarts on the Show Committee stood down. Edna Watt and Chris Hancock have put in unstinting service for many years. We shall miss their contributions enormously. A presentation to them followed.

Past event: Summer Show 2015
The Summer Show was held on Saturday 27 June. The main features were exhibitions of Art and Photography by village exhibitors – and also Flowers, Flower Arrangements and Homecrafts –plus several competitions for children. Thanks especially to the organisers of the Art (Mary Elkerton and Jan Leech) and Photographs (Paul Shepherd, Chris Hancock and David Hannan) and Children’s competitions (Barbara Atkins). The standards this year were again incredibly high: if you missed it then you missed a treat – and you really should make sure you come (and enter) next year! The winning photographs are on display for the next two weeks in the display cabinet in the foyer of the School/Community Centre.

Past event: Getting Ahead for Christmas
An evening of festive inspiration and creativity was held on Friday 28 November 2014. There was a demonstration of Christmas flowers by Suzanne Evetts and workshops on Christmas tree decorations, canapes, cake decorations, gift-wrapping and make-up. Thank you to everyone who came. It was a very successful evening – very well-attended and many requests that it should be repeated on a future occasion. Thank you also to all the workshop and demonstration leaders who gave their time for free – eanbling us to raise over £400 for the Community Centre funds. You will find some photos of the event here.
